I love photograpy and nothing puts a smile on my face than a beautiful and unique photograph ,so you can imagine how much I was lost for words when I came across this "Gorgeous" Photography by Dutch photographer, Mario Gerth's "African Portraits" collection.
Developed in black and white, sepia & colour, these striking images took my breath away, I mean wow! My wish is that one day I can be an expert in taking such phenomenal photographs (as i travel across the globe) .I am so inspired by these photographs and I dont regret one bit of investing in the Nikon D3100 (obviously Mario is definately not use the novice kind of camera like mine LOL).

This kinda reminds me of the popular June 1985 National Geographic Magazine Cover featuring the Afghan Refugee Girl taken by Steve McCurry (i guess its always the eyes that speaks to us).
Till this day this Steve McCurry photograph of the "Afghan Girl with Green Eyes" remains one of the most historical photos ever to be taken. Just like Steve, I think Mario Gerth has also done an exceptional and wonderful job with these beautiful and unique photographs (I'm researching to find out if he is selling them - once i find out I will let you all know, - I'd buy a couple). These are definately eye catching portraits which will be a talking point at any dinner party if you had them on your walls.
When i look at these photos Mario has taken, the photos speak a thousands words - the rich & diverse Cultures, the beauty of the land and its people, the custom attires & textiles etc. Africa is not just blessed with rich natural resources, but also blessed with such striking beauty and diversity with full spectrum, of skin tones, hair textures, rich cultural practices. I look at these photos and I wonder who these beautiful people are, what their daily lifes are like, their hopes their dreams and many many more.
What do you think of these photos by Mario Gerth. Which one is your favourite - mine is the first one.
