"Kosi Style Blog" is the daily lifestyle decor blog associated with "Kosi Living" a custom made textiles and home accessories company. A blend of African, European and American cultural influences underpins the elegant style of Kosi brand. The contemporary designs with a dash of afro centric & ethnic solutions, draw on the upbringings, travels and life experiences.

My name is Akos but everyone calls is Kosia or Kosi. Born and raised in West Africa (Ghana), my family and I moved to London during my early teenage years, where i completed my high school and college education. Most of the part-time jobs i held during college were all in fashion retail. I developed a strong interest home fashion and decor whilst working with London's high end retail stores such as Harrods, Selfridges, John Lewis and House of Fraser.

During and after college, I travelled all over Europe and North Africa and got exposed to incredible cultural diversity and style. In 2000, I left my comfort zone of family and friends in London, and migrated to USA to attend b-school. I still had a desire for home fashion and continued to take part-time jobs with leading retail stores such as Macys, Dillard’s, Belk’s, Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom and Bloomingdales, working mostly with their luxury brands. It is all these years of experiences gained over time, that help me to acquire a wealth of knowledge in home fashion, but most of all, leaving a mark on my creative style.

In 2010, God gave me this great idea to start my own line of luxury custom made textiles and home accessories line. I tried to start the business in 2012 but due to financial hardship, I put everything on hold until 2016, when I decided to properly launch the brand. The name KOSI LIVING was chosen for my brand because i felt it resonates to my name (Akos or Kosia) and represents my unique sense of style with home decor . Although none of my educational background was in home fashion design, I am self taught, and I sketch and draw inspiration from my rich and diverse cultural background, using patterns, textures and designs which are translated across the various color palettes and textiles that I love.

I Love God, I Love to Love and I Love to Laugh. I speak several languages. I am very shy until you get to know me and then I will make you laugh your socks off. I love colors, textiles from all over the world, and always inspired by various interior design styles. I will describe my design style to be contemporary with an eclectic touch. My hobbies include reading, blogging and watching foreign movies (subtitled or not) - especially romantic movies (i cry everytime :)) I also love to cook and learn new dishes. I dont have kids yet but I absolutely adore kids, especially the toddlers who ask so many questions. I love their honesty.

I always taken a strong interest and appreciation to learn people's cultures, languages, history and customs. The world has become Global, and with this, I want this blog to have a uniqueness to it, by showcasing diverse & global Interior design/products from all parts of the world (Africa, Middle East, Europe, Asia, Australia ) and invite everybody in.

Although I currently live and work in Atlanta, GA, I still travel home to London and Ghana quite often. Whilst my co workers are eyeing the corner office, my goals are elsewhere, as I daydream daily, of launching beautiful Kosi Living designed throw cushions, pillows, napkins and drapes to fulfil the needs of my clients. So until I finally resign my job sometime this year, I plan on journaling my experiences of starting my business whilst working fulltime - an inevitable challenge ofcourse.
